The pyramids of Egypt hold great mysteries to this day. Up to now, experts cannot pinpoint the exact period when the pyramids were made due to lack of precise historical records.However, the pyramids are said to have been constructed during the time of the Old Kingdom, which was around 3，000 B.C.The oldest and largest pyramid is the Great Pyramid of Giza.The pyramid stood at a height of about 147 meters shortly after it was built.At present, however, the pyramid's height is around 139 meters due to erosion and the loss of its pyramidion or uppermost piece.The pyramids in Egypt today indeed testify to the creativity and resourcefulness of ancient people that up to this time they remain as some of the world's most amazing accomplishments.
