Mornings
Professor: Hi Jake. What can I help you with?
Jake: Hi professor. I need to talk to you about my schedule and school work.
Professor: Sure. What’s the problem?
Jake: I’m struggling to manage my time. I’m so busy that I can’t even finish my work.
Professor: Why are you so busy?
Jake: Well, this semester I have a lot of classes, and I’m playing on the school football team. I’m also tutoring some younger students on the weekends.
Professor: Wow! No wonder you’re having trouble managing your time.
Jake: Yeah. Do you have any suggestions?
Professor: Let’s see... How early do you wake up in the morning?
Jake: Usually around 9:30.
Professor: I suggest waking up earlier. At first, it’ll be difficult, but you’ll get used to it. I wake up at 6 every day. It sounds crazy, but the morning is my most productive time.
Jake: Really? I never thought about doing that…
Professor: What time is your first class?
Jake: 10 o’clock.
Professor: That’s perfect. Try waking up at 7 or 8 o’clock tomorrow morning and doing your homework then.
Jake: Hmm…maybe that extra time in the morning will help me finish my work.
Professor: Exactly. I always start my day with a jog. It wakes me up and gives me energy. Then I can concentrate on my work.
Jake: I should have asked you about this sooner. Thanks a lot!
Professor: No problem. Let me know if it works!
